i dont really understand what you mean, but you can try :

1. WIN + C (to access charmbar)
2. click Settings > change PC settings > general.
3. look at your right panel click restart no on advance startup. your computer will restart
4. pick troubleshoot > advance option > command prompt
5. your computer will be restar once again
6. pick your user account and put your password. and now you are on the console mode.

There is no DOS in Windows NT operating systems, including Windows 8. There is a similar command prompt, but it is not the same thing.
