Thanks for the pointers in the prev topic :) Now wondering what is the best SD-RAM board I could get? The SiS 735 chipset looks nice. Need mobos tho!

Well, if you must use Sdram, the only decent board I would suggest now is the ECS K7S5A, although be warned, it requires a good 300 watt power supply. Generic brands don't cut it.

aha!! it has some kind of cuts, hehehe"

I heard it was a bit dodgy. I've got an AMD Approved 300w PSU. It's nothing fancy so would probably be [-peep-] by the K75SA.

I'd say a good power supply, maybe one from Enermax or Antec would work. Heck, my friend used an AMD approved generic power supply with his K7S5A and it worked. If you're willing to sacrifice some performance, you could get the Asus A7A-266. Has the Ali 1647 chipset and DDR/SDR support.

Soon enough, Intel will make the i845s...imagine dual channel Sdram...*shudder*

Cheers for that :) The ECS job is supposedly crap for OCing so I'm looking into the ASUS. Problem is finding UK distributers!

I have an Epox EP-8KTA3PRO, KT133A mobo. It has some pretty decent overclocking features, AGP voltage 1.5-2.0 volts, I/O voltage 3.4-3.9 volts, Core voltage to 1.85 in BIOS with +0.1, 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4 volt modifier jumpers on the motherboard so core voltage can go to 2.25 volts max. There are BIOS upgrades to support Athlon XP but I don't know how high off hand. My board has a Tbird 1.0 overclocked to 1.5 Ghz.

Cool. I'll look into that one :) Got outbid on the K7S5A in the last 30 seconds! How [-peep-] is that?

Yeah, Epox pretty nice. I like the older Abit Kt7 board as well, and the raid version too.

Forgot to mention the Epox 8KTA3PRO draws heavily on the +5 volt rail of your power supply, more so when overclocking. Get get a good one. Enermax are good quality but don't seem to match very well with this motherboard (I know). If you prefer this brand then go with at least the 430 watt model. (I haven't decided what power supply I'm going to get to replace my 330 watter).
