Hello all,

I have a wierd issue with my BF3, I had purchased the Russian copy and activated it with origin. I want to install the english files which i have done in the past but since the recent huge updates when i copy over all the files and updates to the language packs when i try to load the game it brings up the BF3 splash screen. Now here is where it gets wierd, on that splash screen (where the soldier is standing there with all the background tanks and whatnot), i can move around and go behind the models and fly around...

I showed my buddie who i was trying to play with (which i ended up giving up and just playing russian for the night)

anyone know where i can find the latest english files?

i bought it on sale a little over a month after it came out, got multiple keys for a lan party and since im a cheap ass when it comes to games, i look for cheapest way to get a game, i know that sounds sad but i can't afford to pay how much it was when it came out especially 3 copies all at once. also at the time the english patch worked for us, which was fine with us so we could play at that lan.

i can't really argue with paying $15 for a game that just required a quick patch instead of paying full price of it. i dont mind playing it in russian, would just prefer english

So EA will ban your Origin account from BF3 if you cheat? Awesome!
I stopped playing BF3 because of cheaters, hacks, and aimbotters.

I would figure if this was a common practice EA would put a stop to it in a game update. It's probably against the EULA regardless if you read through it. It probably falls under an exploit that is now patched.

I saw Origin had a deal that the base Battlefield 3 game was on sale for $10 for a one day sale. Maybe wait for something like that. I get the LAN party reason, but wouldn't your buddies have the game already? They could just log into Origin and use their own account.

Punkbuster bans from PB enabled servers, like any game the bans come in waves it's not as bad as many think compared to something like DayZ which has literally been near destroyed by hacking, the best times to play are immediately after a banwave then the cheating gradually builds up again. EA/DICE dont ban the cheats just stat wipe them, amusingly though they have banned people from the game for using rude words on their forums! Anyway the PB banned cheats get the russian version cheaper (much the same way people got premium at cheaper countries rates).

Sscultima this may help

i ended up buying them all the copies because they showed up without them, and if i hadnt we would have not had a chance to enter the roster.

lol, ya i saw that deal, unfortunatly payday was still a couple days away :p

so that was what i was thinking that perhapes they did something with the latest updatest to prevent english patching. if that is the case i can deal with it for now and just buy it again when it comes back on sale.
