I have a heat problem with my 1900+ Athlon XP system. I bought it as a barebone system and some genius installed it a case that only leaves 1/2" clearance between the top of the CPU fan and the power supply. I'm guessing it was designed for Intel boards.

I installed 2 extra fans (one out and one in) but it still runs at 56 C (CPU). Is there some way I could move the power supply? I can't leave the cover off because I have small children. Or could something else be making it run hot? I have pretty standard components and I am not overclocking anything.

Are you having any problems running at that temp?
Don´t worry if your system is OK.

Anyway, depending on your ability, you could drill some holes in the PSU nearby the CPU in order to suck some hot air through them. If you are not really sure how to do that, please do not try.

My system is setup the same way. However, there are power supplies that take advantage of this configuration. Some have a vent hole directly over the cps fan.

Is there a synonym for thesaurus?
