Hi - I would like to setup my network printer twice in windows XP.
One is for A4 printing (force the tray to only print to that bin) and the
other is for A3 printing.

I know I can change these each time I print but would like to be able
to specify the paper bin to print to just by choosing the printer.
But Windows XP seems to ignore duplicate printers added.

Any tips would be appreciated?

Thanks

No problem in my setup - WinXP Home. I can add the same driver again,
and it will appear in the list as "xxx Copy 1". IIRC there could be a
problem if the driver is not standard with WinXP. Thus, if you've
added the printer from driver disks, you might want to try with a
built-in driver - e.g. HPLJ4.

If this is a connection to another server that you do not have
administrative rights on but you are a local administrator on your system,
you can create a local printer on your machine that prints to a local Port
with the name of the \\server\printer as the port name.

If you are not a local administator on your machine, you will need to
coordinate with the administator of the print server to add a queue for your
desired configurations.
