Amazon.com appears to have the best deals on Verizon phones, after you
include all their rebates. But, they don't offer family plans.

Anybody know if it's possible to buy a phone from Amazon (with a dinky
plan) and convert it to family share afterwards?

thx.

I wouldn't see why not, I have changed plans at least 5 times in the
last three years. Something new comes along and it's better than what I
have, I go online/call-in or go to a VZW Store and change to that plan.

But, to be safe (Amazon might has some hook that I don't know about),
go to a VZW Store or call VZW and ask about changing plans. I'd even
tell them in a round about way, that your getting this plan to try out,
if it don't work, can I upgrade to say the family plan. See what they
say.

It can't hurt, and could save you from getting stuck in plan that you
don't want, with overage charges because of the "dinky" plan as you
called it.
