So many numbers!!

Hi all,

Please could someone decipher these numbers please, or at least in idiot terms tell me what order theyre in.

I am looking at buying a laptop with either: AMD 7670 or AMD 7650.

The requirements for Call of Duty are: Min = AMD 4650, good= AMD 3870, recomend = AMD 4850x2

or,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Battlefield : min = AMD 4650, good = AMD 4770, recomend = AMD 6950


Where do the 2 i am looking at slot in on the requirements?

1st the laptop cards are not as good as desktop cards with the same number but by how much varies. I think the 2 cards you are asking about are between the performance of the 4650 & the good ones. As for how the numbers work the 1st digit is the card generation ie higher number is a newer card. The second and 3rd are how high in the series they are higher is better the 4th is 0.

Simon12, Thanks very much for your reply, its slowly starting to make sense, so am i right in thinking that both those graphic cards would run both games at the lower end of the settings?
Im looking at
i7 processor,
640 or 1tb hd
8GB RAM,

Is there much to be gained by having 2GB as opposed to 1GB in the graphics?

They are both very basic cards but should play all current games on at least the lowest settings, but games released in the future may be totally unplayable. At a laptops screen resolution you only need 1Gb video RAM but if you get the 7670 with ddr5 RAM it should be much better though still a fairly basic card.
