Since Cingular bought ATTWireless, can I switch to ATTWire..

No they don't, the purchase hasn't gone through yet.

I travel from Albany to NYC and the phone changes over just fine from
Cingular to AT&T with no problem, coverage in NYC is better, why who
knows, I have been also to Florida, and NewOrleans and not had a
problem only recently have I been getting missed calls, and voice
mail is not working, and I have the V60i which if I want to change my
plan I have to buy a new phone, so I am going to wait for the V600
with blue tooth technology to come in , with in a month or so, and go
from there. The only thing that keeps me there are the roll over
minutes, Verizon in this area, is OK, but I know too many people
that have them but complain equally about the service and the billing
cycle.

No, they BOUGHT AT&T WS outright. It is not a merger and it is (for the most
part) a done deal. It does take time to itegrate the two systems even though
they both use the same technologies.

Don't expect to see a Cingular sign on your favorite AT&T store just yet as
they have said that will probably take place the 4th quarter of 2004.

as of the 1st of the 4th qtr they belong to Cingular, and thats a
FACT JACK or eric

THey are dealing with all the at&t customers that are going to have to
switch over and the billing systems and a contract that says to at&t
customers either you except this new package or you move on.

Just goes to show that you can't believe everything you read on
these Newsgroups. Even when they are stated so strongly as
"AND THAT IS / ARE THE FACTS"!
The AT&T stockholders don't meet until May 19th in Austin, TX.

Yea and the local AT&T wireless stores in my area have already closed

2 brand new stores only open for less than 2 months because of the
