I have an HP all in one T45. Each time I send a print job, I must wait while
the printer 'reinitializes'. If I send more than 2 small jobs, it locks up
and I must delte all from the cue. I updated the driver when I got my new
computer in January (the printer is nearly 5 yrs old). Any ideas? Thanks!

If the “Initializing” message will not go away, the all-in-one has
encountered a problem that prevents it from initializing.
HP FAQ:
Disconnect and then reconnect the power cable to see if the problem will go
away.
