printer does not installs

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.print_fax (More info?)

whenever i open ADD PRINTER WIZARD ,it asks for
the port . When fill it click "next" button it hangs ....
Can anybody help me????????

What make and model of printer.... and did you install the software BEFORE
connecting the printer to the PC?
