my mate (honest) just bought a gf4 mx440 against my recommendations - they had a gf3 ti500 for £20 more. Now he wants to know how well it will overclock. If he wasnt such a good friend i'd be calling him an idiot right now.

Anybody tried overclocking one of these cards?

Nope...I got Ti4200, able to reach 300/625...

Creative GeForce4 MX440:
Before: 270/400MHz (GPU/Memory)
After: 325/475MHz

eVGA GeForce4 MX440:
Before: 270/400MHz
After: 310/490MHz

But you can also try to convince him of a GeForce3 Ti500 (which are a little faster then the OC'ed MX440) and OC that one... it will be way faster then a OC'ed MX440 will ever get. And it supports DirectX 8.1 instead of only DirectX 7.0.

625 mem? wow!

Is it a 64Mb or 128MB?
what OEM is that card?

my Ti 4200 128MB from chaintech (has ramsinks, it's a special edition) will reach 550MHz ram and above that i get artifacting.

maybe yours is a 64MB? that would put the memory at 500 out of the box possibly making OC easier...

Must be 64MB, or he's using a Vmem mod for his card.
