Nah, that would require hiring a black coach at Alabama.

Like that'll ever happen. They hired a that idiot Mike Price who has shamed the school to no end. Then they go and hire Shula who has no success at any level.
Aww, now, don't hate the south, just hate crimson tide football ( just wonderin if I can ruffle PF's feathers with that).
I don't get the whole thing, anyway, or see why people put so much effort into complaining about coaching. I'd rather be a player than a coach. Much more lucrative opportunity. A-Rod, Jordan....nuff said. Average players make as much as elite coaches. And we all know the percentages in football/baseball/basketball. Don't hear many complaints about that.

It's not about percentages it's about passing over qualified candidates. Football seems to have the biggest problem still, baseball has improved and Basketball doesn't tolerate it.
And yes, I still do not like the south. My mother lives in Georgia, I'll admit it's beautiful but some of the old school attitude is still there. That just kills it for me.
All 3 of their candidates were fairly equal in qualifications. They passed over a white guy, too. (Williams). Given the situation, the talent pool was pretty shallow. We're talking kiddie pool.
There's some old school attitude in all parts of this country, on all sides. It's not just a "Southern" thing. So, I hope there's more to why you hate the South, because if that's it, then you should hate the whole country, really. (I'm not from the South, originally, so I'm not defending anything, I'm just curious. I'm from MO, TX, CA, UT, GA, and AL, chronologically).
Anyway, I'm off to nowhere-land for the weekend. l8r

I'm just talking about a large portion of it. Not all parts. It's just that I seriously felt uncomfortable walking around in many areas. Talking to some of the people and hearing thier views on some subjects just offended me, this comes from both sides. Maybe I'm just too one-sided myself. I live between Berkeley and San Francisco. I just like variety, no offense but there isn't a whole lot out there.
My baby sister just moved out to Georgia (she got behind out here). A couple of weeks ago she calls me and tells me about a high school out there where the white kids held thier own separate prom outside of the intergrated one. WTF is that all about?! Now I'm not sayin all the south is like this
I have other reasons as well.... the weather being a major factor. I hate humidity, there is nothing like 80deg weather with a light drizzle. Torrent rainstorms, tornados, hurricanes, [-peep-] gimme a earthquake, I usually laugh when I feel'em anyway.
Aww, come on, 102 degrees and 90% humidity? That's great stuff.
Where were ya at, PF? (can't recall if/where you said) I felt like I was in another world in Cedar Bluff over the weekend. Was like people could smell the out-of-towner on us or something.
