I’m planning to build a new system and I want a really quiet heatsink/fan combo. The heatsink I’m planning to use is a Thermalright SK-7 with a 80mm Vantec Stealth Fan. I’m using an AMD Athlon XP 2100+ Cpu and it won’t be overclocked. I can get this heatsink/fan combo for $33 and I don’t want to pay more than $40. Will it be sufficient enough that I will get decent cooling and not worry about damaging the cpu? Does anybody else have the same or similar setup? What cpu temperatures could I expect?

Oh dear.
A STOCK AMD COOLER will give adequate cooling under normal operating conditions. (Non-overclocked, adequately ventilated case, room temp below 35C)

Wht you perpose will be FINE
Take a chill pill man! RELAX.

The onyl chance of damage occuring is if you mount the heatsink incorrectly.
Please, Follow the instructions carefully.
