Hi,
What is a good thermal solution (heatsink+fan) for an AMD XP2200+?
Secondly, what should the maximum weight of the heatsink be (so the MoBo doesn't snap!)

Thanks in advance,
VT

Look into the Volcano series of of heatsink/fan combos, I've heard they're really good for OC'ing too.

A good solution is the STOCK COOLER.

IIRC the weight of the cooler should be below 300g, at least for ones that hold on using only 2 clips. Heatsinks that use all 6 clips regularly take more.

Thanks a lot.
I'll have a look at the ones you've mentioned.

as pooba says, the stock fan (retail) does a good job. If you want something better or if you want some overclocking I would suggest you the Volcano 9: it has 6 clips and the smartfan included.

Volcano 7 is too loud and no better than Volcano 9.
Volcano 7+: is a good one but it doesn't have the smartfan, is too heavy (about 500 gr with the fan) and has ONLY 2 CLIPS (very riscky for that weight IMO)
