Hi
I would like to try oc my athlon as shown here:
http://www17.tomshardware.com/howto/01q4/011112/athlonxp2000oc-01.html

One thing that I dont quite get is once I've unlocked all the multipliers how do I select them? The problem is you select the multiplier on my motherboard with a dip switch and the motherboard manual gives you the switch combinations from 5 to 12 in steps of .5, then the last one just says " >=12.5".
What does this mean?
my motherboard is a GA 7VRXP manual is here: http://ftp.gigabyte.com.tw/support/user_pdf/e_7vrxp_1101.pdf

Thanks,
Mike

If it uses dip switches then you would use them once your proc is unlocked. If you want a multi of 5 you set it to 5, if you want it at 12 then you set it at that. As in you set the dip switches the way it shows for 12 or 5 or whatever you secide to try. Also in the manuel X=off while O=on

If you ever stop learning, YOU'ER DEAD!!

Yes you can select it with that dip-switch. The >=12.5 setting has to be used when using a multiplier of 12.5x or higher. But it could be that there are switch combinations you can set for 13x, 13.5x, 14x etc... you have to search if there is a guide about that somewhere online.

My CPU runs so hot the arctic silver undergoes nuclear fusion  .
