Hello,
windows7 hangup frequently due to harddrive errors...though i use system mechanic, i culdnot repair harddrive errors

pls help

?? For whatever it is worth, when XP does the same it can be reinstalled right over, and at some point it will give you the opportunity to repair current install, this can be done from Dos or Windoze, don't know about 7 tho, worth a try, worst case you will have to wipe and reinstall, but you should get diags from hdd manuf and test hdd to be sure as to wether it is hardware or software that is causing your snafu, also check all connections make sure they are firmly in place...:)

Make backups of your critical data and replace the harddrive, quickly. Once it starts failing you just have to bite the bullet and throw it out. It's not worth taking chances with your data.

By the way, is this an old drive?
