Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare crashes system

Whenever I run CoD4 for more than 10-15 minutes, my entire system crashes.

I play in short bursts (around 10 minutes) then I have to quit the game completely and restart it.

If I don't the system freezes (no BSOD) - just freezes . I can't open task manager or anything. I end up pressing the reset button on my PC case.

I have:
i7-930 OC'd to 3.8Ghz
6GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3 1600
EVGA SLI LE Mobo
Seagate 1TB HDD
2x EVGA 9800GTX+
NZXT Tempest Evo Case
HT Omega Striker 7.1 Sound Card
Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit



I tried undoing the OC and it still crashes. My friend (who has completely different specs) has the same issue as me.
?
Does anyone know why this happens?

lol ..maybe your system is way too powerful for that game...lol
to be precise, crashes maybe due to overheating and insufficient power supply.
So pls give me some details about your powersupply unit.
2x 9800 GTx require a ravaging amount of power with max TDP being about 230 watts. If that beast is not being fed by your power supply then it'll make your system pee and not just crash..!!

I have a Rosewill 1000W. Liquid CPU Cooling. I monitor my temps, its not my temps

maybe i'm short on knowledge...but i've never heard of '' rosewill'' .
How many amperes do you have on your 12 v rail..??
If its anything above 30, then u are in the clear..
Try turning SLI off.
Certain games are better optimized for nonSLI config.
Try your luck..!!

World of Warcraft
CS:S
CS:GO
BF3
CoD4 (Single Player)
CoD MW2&3 (Single Player)
BF3 (Single Player)



SLI is off

If bf3 is working fine , then i definitely don't see a reason for cod 4 to hang up and freeze your pc....sorry bro...out of suggestions..

Turn SSDP discovery off in the services(type services.msc) in the start menu.

If this fails too...then enjoy cod mw2 b'coz both games have nearly identical multiplayer.....lol
