I purchased a minolta 2300w in May. I have had problems ever since. I loaded
it from the disc as instructed. Everytime it went into sleep mode it would
fall off and I would have to reinstall. I turned off sleep mode as instructed
by minolta. However, that did not solve the problem. If the computer shuts
down for any reason I loose it again. Also the printer is never listed in
printers and faxes, even after I reinstall and it is operating. I followed
your advise from article nine and also checked in control panel>admin
tools>comp serv>serv local everything is set correctly. I think if I could
get the printer to show up in the printers and faxes window it would stay
there. I understand that this is a known issue with this printer. Needless
to say this is annoying. Any ideas?

Try a complete uninstall.... then follow the instructions for a normal
installation... using the USB port... remember that the software needs to be
installed BEFORE you connect the printer.
