I'm looking for a quiet cool heatsink for a non-overclocked computer, an athlon 1700 (ok maybe a little overclocking like increasing fsb to 1700 and lowering the multiplier. By the way, does the Epox nForce2 8rda+ board automatically unlock the multiplier?). I've selected a GlacialTech Igloo 2410. Is this ok? I want a heatsink/fan that is less than $20 total. Thanks.

I did read that my mobo the Asus A7N8X unlocks the multiplier, which is not correct. In the anandtech nforce2 review they claimed that the a7n8x would automaticly unlock the mult. but it does not, you may get lucky with the epox board though.

Boards with the KT400 chipset are said to do it but only with T-breds. But I don't know about the nForce2 chipset.

But unlocking the CPU isn't a very difficult operation.

My PC eats so much money that I'm in 'desperate' need of it to buy PC3500 RAM, help Svol with his OC project!
