Heatsink stuck

Ok i borrowed some arctic sliver thermal paste from a friend. I try to take off the heatsink like u normally would [push down and pull out] but the damn thing wont budge!
im so worried im just gonna slip the screwdriver and bash a hole through the mainboard [my friends experience]
so if anyone has any tips...

Well, there's only one way that heatsink is coming off... Push n' pry.

I'd put a piece of cloth on the end or the screwdriver to help prevent damage to the motherboard, just in case you <i>do</i> biff it.

May be you're using large screwdriver, which doesn't fit right, or you're pushing the wrong side of the clip.
