I just purchased a new Celeron 2.0 processor along with a new Cooling fan (Intel Genuine Socket 478 up to 2.8 GHz). I also purchased a new Mid-Tower case with 350 watt PSU.

My problem is my CPU temp is running around 67 degrees.

My fan is running at only 2500 rpm - Is this too low?

I would appreciate any help!

Thanks,

Bob

did you put anything between the heatsink and the CPU? (thermal tape, thermal grease...) and how?

I just called Tiger Direct and they will exchange the fan! Also I ordered a case cooling fan! My cooling fan did not come with any thermal compound! How do you apply it?

Thanks,

Bob

You don't have to yell! ;)

Thermal grease (or Thermal Compound) is a goo that you very thinly apply to where the CPU and heatsink meet (The CORE! *dum* *dum* *dum*). It helps take heat away from the CPU.

You can find it at any computer store or at http://www.articsilver.com
