My system is a 2.0 Celeron.

I was getting a CPU temp of 69 degrees. (The fan speed was 2,500 RPM)

I exchanged my CPU fan and the reading now is 3,200 RPM.

I added a Fan for Intake (bottom of case) and a fan for exhaust (back of case) and my CPU temp is running a constant 48 degrees.

I still get freezups when encoding video!

Is this acceptable?

48C would be low enough. Do you have a PSU that can give enough power and which HSF do you use for the CPU?

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dimms when I turn it on

well the temps sound acceptable, but as your still getting lockups i suspect the problem lies elsewhere... a underpowered PSU, misbehaving ram, OS glitch...

use MEMTEST86 to check out your ram.

LOL hard to get a decent answer isnt it?

I am going to have to go with the Power supply.Since I have installed A 120mm out fan,80mm Delta in fan,put a Delta 60x60x38 screamer on my CAK2 38,installed a Gainward Gforce2 TI500 xp Golden Sample over clocked to the end (well at stable settings At 300x530 and not over heating) and installed a DVD player,,I have been locking up allot more now. A 300 watt Power supply is the culpret in my case..Read past post's..Most can be answerd without leaving one.....Buy the way,,im around 38c on a full load.....Good Luck.....As A note--When i move my mouse around,,my fans change speeds. That is a dead giveaway for a under powerd PS.

The fact that a new supply made the system beter but not all the way might lead one to conclude: it was a step in the right direction but maybe not a big enough step.

Can you post your system setup and the model # on your power supply. That would allow somebody to make more accurate guesses.

Voodoo3?? WOW..I finally Dumped my 5500..It is still a good card ..My glide games will suffer,,but time marches on.. Ill sell it to you.....Your Voodoo card is one of your problems on lockups.I went from a voodoo3 to a 5500 and it stopped locking up all together.16megs is not enough, really for Vidio Encoding........

I Installed Pinnacle Studio 8 DV last night to capture my DV camcorder. The install and capture went well until the encoding, then the system shut down! When I try to go back into Pinnacle, the system crashes again! I tried this morning again, and after about 45 minutes, system shut down again! Can there be a problem with my new motherboard? Everything else works great!

Please help!

Thanks,

Bob
