I have a Linksys wireless router BEFW11SF . it's performing well and I put
basic security measures on it (WEP, changed the password to my router, turn
of beaconing, etc). It accesses the internet fine. Is there any way,
however, to prevent laptops on the wireless network to see other laptops on
teh wireless network (ie, prevent file sharing between laptops or other
srevices). Is there a function on linksys routers to ONLY provider internet
access and nothing else.

I don't need anything specific. just what the function name is and I can
google it further from there.

Personal Firewall or IPsec

The only thing left is to go to the O/S and configure it to prevent
things from happening. Everything is secondary to the O/S, if you have
one that security can be implemented.
