Hey guys- anyone know whether or not soyo boards read the cpu temp. off of the cpu die (which I have read is very accurate) or off of a thermsistor on the board (which I have heard is very inaccurate). Before I overclock any further, I would like to know if I am getting legitmate readings. As always, thanks for the help!

Best way to find out is with an external temp sensor. You can get them for around $15-$20 online, sometimes with fan controllers, and the mount in an unused drive bay. Or you can spend a bit more for an infrared one which you measure by pointing at what you want to measure, you might be able to get one at a perfomance auto parts shop.

Hmm... I have a digital doc 5, with one of the temperature sensors taped to a heatsink fin. I can't put the sensor on the cpu die, can I? Seems risky.

Yes, never place it on the die. Just place it as close as possible to it. If it is very thin (you have 2 thin sensor) you can stick it just beside the die, this way it will measure the most realistic die temp and don't restrict cooling.

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dimms when I turn it on
