Really need to overclock the non-pro radeon 9000

hi guys,
i am having a very weird problem with my Gigabyte Radeon 9000 64MB DDR , the original freq. is 250 core - 400 mem.when i try to overclock or even underclock it just a little bit (2 MHz only) the PC restart!!.
i used many utilities like V-Tuner, Radeonator 2, Rage 3d Tweak & Power Strip; and they all gave the same problem(restarting).
i guessed that there is some kind of protection in the BIOS of Gigabyte to prevent Overclocking, so i thought of flashing a new BIOS from other brands that make the same card like FIC or Powercolor, but am afraid that it can cause a seriouse problem and rune the card
so if anybody know anything about this problem plz helpme and if anyone try before flashing the BIOS of a VGA card with no problems plz tell me

More about really overclock radeon 9000
  1. I've tried the latest builds of rage3Dtweak and powerstrip to try to OC my powercolor radeon 9000 (with cat3 drivers) . No luck so far. Like you, my pc just just restarts.
  2. There is a lock in BIOS for the clock generator. You need a program to hack the card's BIOS. You can find out more at

  3. On win 2k/XP it reboots.

I hear that it is possible on win 98, but only with catalyst 2.4 or lower. Check 9000&pagenumber=1 for more info (warning, post count exceeds 250).

Someone please corect me if I'm wrong.

    Pretty please? I too have a 9000 non-pro.
