popular, but what's the best online forum to discuss and read about Final
Fantasy these days?

Honestly, nearly every home-made geek forum will have a section devoted
to Final Fantasy, or at the very least a Final Fantasy thread in a
video games section. I don't know of any specific examples of
FF-specific forums, but Squenix's site might have information on some.

Browse around LiveJournal.com, and gamefaqs.com to find "popular" FF
boards.
