I just recently built my new comp, and i was messing around with overclocking it. My specs are: p4 2.53 (c1 stepping), abit it7-max2 v2.0 mb, corsair xms3200 512 mb ram, antec true430, wd 80 gb hdd. I was trying to get it to 3.0 ghz. I finally did, but i had to jack the vcore up to 1.65, from 1.525 standard. I just thought this seemed high. Because some guy on newegg who reviewed the cpu, you know where you buy them, said he got to 166 fsb with stock voltage AND fan. I just dont see how this is happening. Any explanations or suggestions? Thanks.

each core has its own personality, some will overclock high some will not, some require more voltage and others can just flow with what they have. It all depends. 1.6v isn't that much, not even for a .13 micron core like yours so be happy you reached 3ghz! Crack open a bottle of wine and celebrate!
