good job svol, but please explain the base: is it copper or aluminum (i would think Cu, but it looks like a mix)

You're right I should've add that too.

Anyway the base if a full copper baseplate from my Swiftech MCW-462BTEC that I don't use (I use the non-TEC plate) of 90x90x5mm. The maze is made with 500x15x1 mm copper plating soldered to the copper baseplate with sanitair solder (tin/silver solder for best heat-conducting). It is closed down with a plexi-glass plate with some rubber between the plastic and copper.

Here is a pic of it in a test system with a 152W Cooltech peltier on max with the (crappy) isolation removed after I blown on it a couple of times: <A HREF="http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~svo/newwc/Brrr-ice.jpg" target="_new">Brrr... condensation turns into ice</A>

The lowest temp I got with this setup with the crappy isolation (I didn't had anything else) was 21 C on the hot side against the waterblock and -19 C on the cold plate against the cold side.

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dims when I turn it on

how does it perform compared to other blocks out there?
this might be a hard question to answer since you probably don't have them handy =/
i was thinking of the <A HREF="http://www.swiftnets.com/" target="_new">swiftech mcw462 or mcw5000]</A>, <A HREF="http://www.dangerden.com/mall/maze3.asp" target="_new">danger den maze3</A>, <A HREF="http://www.overclockedpc.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=38_22&products_id=111" target="_new">ocpc.co.uk atlantis</A>, or <A HREF="http://www.teamster469.com/lr_rapids.htm" target="_new">the little river "white water"</A>
you could also send it to bill adams at <A HREF="http://www.overclockers.com" target="_new">overclockers.com</A> for a review =)

Well I got the older Swiftech MCW-462B in my current watercooler so I can comparise it with that.
But I didn't actually test it in a PC... just a setup to experiment with peltiers for my graduation project.
