Has anyone ever seen watercooled ramsinks? This would really let you jack up the voltage quite a bit. I see the inherent mounting issues as the current "ram-holder-tab-thingys" totally suck and i cant believe people put up with them. Im sure something could be worked out though.

Thing is, RAM isn't as overclockable as a CPU/GPU, and the heat produced isn't enough to warrant water-cooler RAMsinks. Anyways, they're not strong enough to support the weight, and neither are the slots. Making the ramsinks would be pretty easy though, all you would need is a solid copper rectangle the size of the RAM module, then drill the appropriately sized hole in the middle, cap the ends with tube ends and voila !

It is done before... maybe you can find an article about it on http://www.overclockers.com.

But it is totally useless as RAM doesn't get very hot. AQ normal RAMsink will be plenty.

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dims when I turn it on

i understand ram doesnt normally get that hot, but if you could really push the voltage way up with a voltage mod they would get very hot wouldnt they? or am i way off track?

Eben then, air cooling works just fine. And from most benches that I have seen, Cooled DDR SDRAM only gets a few mhz higher when it is cooled. granted, with extra voltage, the cooling will keep the stuff alive longer, but even then water cooling wont show much if any benefit.

Ram really doesnt get all that hot, and it usually has some hard limit to what you can squeeze out of it. So once you reach the limit adding ramsinks or watercooling only gives you a few more % at best.

it has been done, for graphics cards too. though I dont see the point a heatspreader barely has any effect. ram chips dont get that hot.
