memory chips

my radeon 8500LE 128mb ram has the following model of memory chips
K4D28163HD-TC40

looking at samsungs webpage

it states that max speed is 250 mhz, can i safely oc it to say 275or not in this case, a

what would a safe level of overclock be for the gpu???

my sytem is a p4 2.4 @ 2.61ghz (145fsb) 512mb corsair xms and asus p4pe mobo (no SATA)

i do not want to kill my system just yet so what i am seeking is modesty in the oc i do not want to start vmodding as i unsderstand that this can do the most wron,g

Well your core will probably get to 285+ especially with alittle more cooling. However your mem might not get very far at all. I would very slowly increase the mem and leave the core. Play games, run benchmarks etc. And find the limit (you'll know when it is reached). Then back off, and try core, again same process. Then try both, knowing your approx. limits, until you reach the threshold then I usually back off 5MHz on both core and mem flash edited bios, done Go easy and it should be no prob.

thank you, i actually raised both up to 275mhz and then ran 3dmark2001se it did it without a glith and added 1000 points to my score... but i decided to put it back to lower speeds. Don't actually need it anyway just playing
