StarCraft 2 System Requirements Help

Hey guys, I want to know what video card I can get for my current PC in order to run StarCraft 2 on just medium settings at a steady rate

system info is:

AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 Processor 3.00 GHz
4 GB of RAM
Windows 7 64-bit operating system
GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

Personally I only wish to replace the video card with one preferably under $100, but if any other suggestions can help me to improve my computer then I don't mind either.

Thank you.

  1. I was using a GTS250 at 1440x900 with settings on high without slowdows on campain.Multiplayer on certain maps like marine arena were troublesome though.

We need to knowwhat resolution you play on.
  2. Additionally your power supply info is greatly needed before a recommendation can be made.
  3. I play with 1360x768 resolution
As for the power supply, how can I get that information?
  4. Are you able to open the side of the case and read the sticker info? If this wasn't a home build you could tell us the make/model of the pc and we could probably look it up.

I have a feeling from the info you have provided you probably have a pre-built system with a bottom of the barrel power supply that will likely need an upgrade for most any gpu you choose......
  5. I ran it on high with a Radeon 4870 @ 1920 x 1080 so I think a 6670 should be OK for medium @ 1360 x 768

That's the computer model with all the information on it, it says that the internal power supply is 250W.

@Simon12 thanks for the feedback, I'm just wondering if I need to change anything else in my computer to handle the video card
  7. With a 250W power supply I would recommend a better one for any graphics card its worth getting a good 500W one in case of future upgrades but really a 6670 can only use a maximum of 75W extra so 325W will do.
