Problems with feedback from speakers on laptop

Hello,
when i switch on my laptop i get loud feedback, i have to go to mixer and mute the internal mic.The scrollbar for volume will not drag up so it is hard to turn the speakers up

It sounds like driver problems. The mic is causing the feedback in the speakers. Try downloading later drivers if they are available or perhaps a system restore at the point where they were not having this problem. Make sure there is not some application trying to access the sound sub system.
