Resolving Mic Issues

Friends...

This is regarding my headphones get connected to Skype, Gtalk etc... Audio Out is working fine. But, I couldn't get my Headphone Mic connected to the system. I tried to get that connected many time.... But it didnt work. When connected through skype, I can hear them.... But they couldnt hear me.... I'm using windows 7. Do I have to install any drivers or do I need to modify any settings...

Are you using the rear panel or your cases front panel for the mike.

If you are using the front panel I had a similar issue with a friends pc. It turned out he had setup the front panel for HD audio out. The mobo connectors for the case audio in/out can be used for EITHER standard audio out and an audio in OR hd audio out.
