What heatsink/fan do you use?

Looking at getting a 9500 Pro. Want to overclock to the max. I've seen that cool ThermalTake heatsink and fan, and I've seen the quiet Zalman thing. The thermaltake looks good, and the zalman looks like a better heatsink, but it has no fan. Noise is NOT an issue, so is there a mod to put a fan on the zalman, or is there a version of the Zalman that has a fan? If I have 2 side case fans on my xaser III pointing towards the card, will that be enough? Thanks to all who respond?

You can place a fan on the Zalam heatsink with a little creativity and some tiewraps or screws.

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dims when I turn it on

actually the zalman HP80, the silent heatsink, will work wonders in your case with the fan pointing directly at the heatsink... the new design from zalman is a fan mointed on that same heatsink, heh. anyways, it will work a lot better than the thermaltake which is more like a estetic mod than anything else

Here's the link for zalman, and this link is to the Thermaltake heatsinks. As for RAMsinks, there's nothing better than TweakMonster RAMsinks, they're pure copper coated in zinc, and they are available in BGA or standard sizes. If you'd like some info on purchasing them, private msg me (I sell them). Ideally, having good airflow over these passive heatsinks and RAMsinks would allow for the best OCing due to lowest temps - so basiccally a nice window mounted fan over the vid card is perfect.

hmm. those tweakmonster ramsinks look good.
even though the 9800s ram is BGA i should obviously get the normal ones right? cause theyre bigger?
i mean... duh.
also which Tt cooler should i get?
they have diff ones, i want the best, and its for a 9800 pro.

two 80mm fans is perfect, like i msged you, havin fans over the card is really good for venting the heat from there... also a slot cooler (you know, the PCI slot card coolers) is good for an extra exhaust

Will the ramsinks fit under the Zalman cooler? In other words, is there enough clearance between the zalman and the card to install the sinks?

They should fit under the HP-80A, though I can't give a guarantee on that because I haven't been able to see it for myself..

I use the Zalman on my Radeon 9700 Pro with a 2 60x15mm fans on it (taken from retail AMD HSFs) and it kicks ass. They are attached with epoxy (NOT thermal epoxy) in each corner.

eBay, kick ass!
