So I plan on purchasing this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009222 for gaming at 120 fps. 3d gaming isn't a priority, but I'm wondering how it works. I have a radeon hd 7970 and as far as I know this monitor does not support HD3D, but I had a friend tell me that it wouldn't be a problem because I could use tridef instead, but I can't seem to find any info on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The monitor is the best monitor in it's price range (Under $200). It supports 3D gaming and has good performance reviews. Take a look.

hd3d is an amd variation on 3d gaming so yes your card does support the input your monitor requires. it would be different if your monitor supported nvidias version, then you would have wasted your money.

the above linked monitor on new egg is an nvidia 3d vision monitor and would be a waste of money as it doesnt support ati's version of 3d vision.(at least not officially)
