Can't get high FSB on T-Bred

hi all. been trying to do over a 185 FSB on my XP2700+ with no luck. If I go above 185 fsb I just get no post. Was hoping for some help from the good overclockers in here.
I'm using PC2700 Ram. But I don't think my ram is holding me back cause its not even posting. With my Previous 266Fsb athlon I could do 200fsb on this same board with the same stick of ram. So i'm not sure what I can do.

I've tried numerous things.
Raised Vcore
lowered memory timings
using newest bios
increase memory Volts

Still no Post over 185FSB.

I was debating putting PC3500Ram in my system, but if I can't get over a 185fsb then there is no point spending the extra money.

I don't think its my memory limiting my overclock. has to be either my board or the cpu.

Try increasing I/O voltage. The northbridge uses this.

Don't expect to go much higher with only PC2700 memory.

abit later tonight...

Found some info in a thread about Switching the FSB Jumper from 133/166 to 100 FSB. Now able to post @ 199 FSB.
But Multipliers under 13 are not accessible on my chip until L3Bridge is closed. all mulipliers over 13 work fine.

I'm leaning towards the PC3500 memory also... Need to fix the cpu first...

if you could do 200 with your last cpu, your ram is not your problem, am i right?
and yeah you might need to increase your northbridge voltage to cope with the high fsb speeds.
are you on a pelt or prometeia? can water alone get you that high?

Nforce2 board then? ys thats a known problem...
for some reason FSB333 cpu's cannot get as high FSB wise as FSb266 ones. strange but true.

I filled in the 5th L3 bridge. But am still unable to use multipliers under 13x. I couldn't really find that article. but I did read the summary and that involves cutting a bridge, which I don't have the tools do to. Nor have I ever done it before.

So for now i'm uncertain what my next step will be.

I can try rebriding the L3 bridge cause I know sometimes It takes a couple attempts to get it right.

You're right... the article seems to be gone. But you can still find all info in this forum thread: http://forums.sudhian.com/messageview.cfm?catid=18&threadid=28966
