i got my barton running at 169x12.5=2114Mhz cpu volt. 1.725
the weird thing is if i try to set my fsb at 170 it wont post. and my system just freezes. the only thing it was doin was blowin air. so i reset cmos and set it at the above settings and everything is working fine.
but i would like to know why it is it wont post when i set my fsb to 170.
my other bios settings:
cpu interface: optimal
memory freq. : optimal
memory timings: optimal
i'm happy with the current overclock but i want to know how far i can go. so any suggestions on what i'm forgettin r welcome.
btw. is there a program to set the fsb while running in xp?
now i got another problem :s... the thing is it wont load windows normally.right after it says windows is loading, my screen turns black and my monitor goes in standby. right now i'm in safe mode and i cant find any problems... i already tried system restore but that didnt work. NEED HELP
ya i am goin to get another but not right now.. i want to wait for a while so that i have the money.so u think i cant overclock more cus of my videocard. hhmmmm.thanks for pointing that out to me. that sucks.
If you get into windows, try running Prime95. They have a test that is really accurate. If you get a single error, then your processor is clocked too high/not cooled well enough. I thought I was stable at 12.5x175, but I wasn't. I'm now at 11x189 I'm stable, though slower.
thanks i'll give that a shot. btw i think its the temp. cus my highest was 57C.. a bit high i think. but at the asus probe it says 47C. but i trust the bios more. so that means i need to get a new case with lots of cooling.
