What is the difference between crossover cable and patch cable? Which would I use just for connecting from PC to router?
Yes there is a difference. Patch cables are also called straight or through cables which have the same wire configuration at both ends. Crossover cables have differing ends. Check out this link to make your own. http://www.lanshack.com/make-cat5E.asp Got a LAN Party that you want people to know about? Let me know about it.
Sorry... Use Patch Cables. Got a LAN Party that you want people to know about? Let me know about it.
Cross over is designed for connecting two computers together with out a switch (or linking switches together i belive, correct me if im wrong)
you are correct. and btw, the author of this post is probly dead by now, did you notice the date? this is my boomstick!
Give him a break. That date stamp can be confusing (06/07/04) Maybe it was done in the future, April 7, 2006? June 4, 2007? "A delayed game will eventually come out, a bad game is bad forever." -Shigeru Miyamoto
