Hey guys! Wondering if someone out there can help! I have done ALOT of research on my motherboard and from what i hear people are overclocking their AMD 2000 just fine on this board. So when i go into my Bios, change the fsb to anything higher then 144 which is 1800 mhz, windows XP will not boot at all.. The reviews posted by everyone say they can get theirs higher, with no problems at all.. I've tried increasing ddr voltage, and i know for a fact i have enough power from my PSU. ANYONE !!! HEEELPPP! My system spec.

AMD 2000+ with Valcano 9/ artic silver paste
ABIT AT7 /with latest BIOS update
512 DDR ECC 333 /SAMSUNG
550 WATT ENERMAX PSU

it depends on what revision of the 2000XP you are using, it could be a Palamino or a throughabred A or B, the best ones is a rev B for overclocking...

the chip should says something like 2000DVLC...

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a valid page fault ???
these invalid ones are far too commonplace...

That AT7...its a KT400 based board, and thus FSB overclocking also pushes up the PCI and AGP speeds.

Your CPU either needs more voltage or you have a PCI device that doesnt like elivated bus speeds.

HEhe, yeah I've treid that also!! yeah i think its just the cpu.. bought it a while ago.. so its deffinatly not the .13 type.. Sucks, cause i can get it to post at 2ghz !! but will not load windows lol.. either gives me a stop error, or missing system file error. ahh well. :(
Oh btw, I dont use ONE of my PCI slots hehe.. Everything is onboard on this mobo.. i love it ! Not even any ps2 or serial ports !!! LOL all USB 1 + 2 and firewire. Maybe if i disable all PCI slots in BIOS.. would that do anything ?

Thnx for the quick respones guys !! i appreciate it
Edited by Sin on 03/31/03 09:20 PM.

maybe if you told us WHAT XP2000+ it was we could get a better idea of its limits.
