Windows 8 Sleep Mode

Windows 8 pro 64 bit installed. When computer wakes from sleep mode I have no network connection. The only way I can find to get it back is to restart, which defeats the purpose of using sleep mode.

driver is not waking up from sleep, you need to get a new driver that is sleep aware or turn off the power management setting putting your adapter to sleep:

to turn off sleep for your card:
control panel->hardware and sound->device manager
find your network adapter, right click to get properties, select the power management tab
uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
