I am trying to access the setup menu with no luck. I am using the F10
key but seems that I see the setup showing up in the bottom right
corner then it just boots up regularly not accessing the BIOS.

any suggestions?

Thanx

You have two choices:

1) When the "F10=Setup" prompt appears in the lower right corner, THEN
you have about two seconds to press the F10 key. This should take you
to the "Computer Setup" utility, which is installed on a non-DOS hard
drive partition. If this does not work, the information may not be
there (a replacement hard drive, for example). If so, instead you can--

2) Install or just run the utility from floppies. From the AP400
download page (start with "Other HP Products" from the www.compaq.com
site to get there), you can download "F10 Setup and Diagnostics for
Compaq Workstations" for the AP400. Running the file (SP12238.exe)
after it's downloaded creates three floppies. Boot from the first
floppy, and select "Setup".

I'm in the process of fixing up an AP400 myself-- good luck!
