Hi,

I finally made the jump to Windows 7 from XP a couple of weeks ago and wanted some help regarding compatability of older legacy games. For Christmas i was going to get myself SimCity 3000 (amazon link below)

http://www.amazon.com/SimCity-3000-Pc/dp/B00000G16I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353945901&sr=8-1&keywords=simcity+3000

So as you can see this game was designed for 95/Me/98. So how will game play and stability be affected since ill be running this game on Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit OS). Also is there anything special i need to do (settings wise and/or install-wise) to avoid any headache?

Thanks all

So i am SoL for 3k running on my win 7 box?

As far as the Sim games, i wanted to get the best one before EA got their grubby paws on the IP. Not a big fan of what they are doing to the newer games of old franchises

simcity deluxe runs on windows 7 64 i tried it a while back and it worked flawlessly.
as pointed out by das stig you can use a virtual machine if your cpu supports em and then install a 32bit o.s on that. this in turn would allow you to play the game. but you would need a slightly beefier setup that the game originally required. there is also a browser version of the original simcity which will play regardless of platform as it plays in your explorer/chrome/opera/ie9 browsers.
