Hey everyone!

Ive been interested in comps now for a pretty long time.. 6 years right now. And ive ownd 4 systems and ive now decided to WC the system that is in my bedroom because i do not like the noise at all. So basically im looking for a begginers guide... like what im gonna need, where to get it etc.

Ive read some of the guides in the watercooling section but there are just so darn many..

Ive thought that im gonna build everything inside my case so that it dosent take any room outside. Im also gonna replace my 80mm fan with a 120mm one.

Now i know i need a radiator, water supply, tubing, water block (doh :p). Anything else? also im wondering where to get the radiator from and the pump.
Also is there anyway possible to make the water fluoresant(sp) when i have a UV light on inside my case?

When i finnish ill post some pics of my rig here.

Thanks for your help in advance!

There are water addatives that will make the water flor. Antifreeze has a nice look also :)

Best tip I can offer is ... test the system OUTSIDE the pc before you think about getting it close to soemthing that can short out. There are some prebuilt kits that are pretty nice too... might wanna consider one of those for a first time watercool.

PUMP: Eheim 1250 or 1048 is highly recommended. Silent, powerful, durable. Can be purchased from any aquarium store, dangerden.com, and many hardware stores.

Radiator: An automotive heater core rad is highly efficient and will impede water flow the least. That being said it may not fit in your case. Can be purchased at any automotive parts store or used from a junkyard.

Water Block: There are many different brands, but most people here recommend http://www.dangerden.com.

Resevoir: Really anything will do. There have been several people who recommend using watertight underground elecrical conduite boxes available from any electronics and/or hardware store, but I've seen people use everything from aquariums to pop bottles.

Water: Distilled water with a bit of Watter Wetter (tm) is recommended. You may also add UV florescent dye to the water. Distilled water can be bought from your grocery store. Water Wetter from an automotive parts store. Unfortunately my only source for florescent dye has gone out of business, so you'll have to find that yourself.

i wrote my post and AOL crashed =(

what i DID say was that should be a great system
the whitewater is very expensive (twice the cost of any other block, when you add shipping from australia, and possibly the $15 P4 mounting kit, depending on your system)
the two outside holes are outlets, the middle one is an inlet, and you connect the two outside tubes with a Y to bring it back into 1 tube
word has it that the design for the whitewater has been sold to Dtek, and the commercialization will bring the price of the block down, but no one knows when that's gonna happen
for now, you can find the whitewater here
otherwise, the Dtek TC-4, Danger Den Maze 3, and Swiftech MCW-5000 are all good blocks. the D-tek performs the best by a degree or two, the Maze 3 looks the best (in my opinion), and i've had no problems with the Lucite top despite many people's fears that it would crack. you can order a copper top on it instead, if you wish - but that takes away from the great looks :p
the swiftech performs on par with the Maze 3, but only has 3/8" fittings as far as i know, whereas the other two blocks can be fit with either.
you can get the danger den block from http://www.dangerden.com, and the others can be found at reseller websites. they're all about $50 blocks
