How high have you guys gotten the MX to without adding a fan. I got 185/195 with my MSI StarForce 816.

I got my Asus V7100 GeForce2MX from 175/166 to 215/205MHz without RAMsinks but (unfortaintly for answering your question) with a small 40mm fan on the GPU.

My CPU fan spins so fast that it creates a wormhole

235/180 without fan or ram sinks but when I add my hercules gf2 pro replacement fan (they changed the design for the replacement fans and it cools like a mother) and my hercules gf2 ti ram sinks I get 265/206 with my evga gf2mx200 she is a BEAST!

HOw far do you think i can take my 440se. It's a 275/166 clocks now. It's a toned down 440mx. I just installed a Small fan on the GPU heatsink. Can i burn the ram chips without ramsinks? How do i know if the overclock is stable.
The fan on the GPU is working quite well Now if i touch the HS while playing games it reamins cold. IT got quite hot otherwise.

<font color=blue><b>OKK!! Which one of you wise guys stole my sig! :frown:  </font color=blue></b><font color=red><b><i>Jay Kay</font color=red></b></i>

I always clock my cards up till Graphics errors occur. you will know when you've gone too far. turn it up till you get the errors then down until everything looks right again and no ailasing occurs. ram sinks are unnessecary.

I took it upto 325/430 today. The HS was cool coz of the fan but the back got pretty warm. No errors at all no crashes either. I was just too scared to take it further up  Maybe later. So do you mean to say that i can max out my ram without the fear of frying the chips? Dont they burn or anything? thanks. I got pretty good performance too esp with AF/AA on.

lol they won't burn no matter how far you crank them. Just don't mod it for a higher voltage or anything and you'll be fine. I've had so many freaking video cards and I have NEVER had one fail because of cranking the clock speed up.

congrats! I finally have enough money to get a new graphics card, in a little over a week I should have my 9700 pro. That should tide me over for another year...

I had mine at 200/200, but didn't go any higher for fear of burning it up.. After reading papasmurf's posts though, it seems gfx cards are pretty tough to burn, so I coulda went alot higher :\ Already traded it for my geforce 4 Ti4200 though, so can't experiment anymore with it :D
