Getting fps up in bf3

I'm trying to get my fps up while in game but when i press the `¬ button just below esc because ~ button does not do anything, and type in render.drawfps it says false command i have tried various combinations of drawfps like render.drawfps1 , Render.DrawFps1, i'm at a loss is there something i'm missing please help

    I think, I don't use it but it should come up when you type it in. I use MSI Afterburner cause it gives you GPU usage, temperature, VRAM usage, fan speeds all that good stuff. Or there's always Fraps.
