man.. i bought one because it had built in variable speed (mobo doenst have to support it) and because it looked cool and was better than my stock HSF

well yes it does cool my cpu by about 10C less (1700+ palomino @ 2000+ 1.75v... "Block Heater" ) @ 45C under load 40 idle but this thing is FREAKING LOUD!!!!!!!!!


its ok when i first start up, because the speed control keeps the fan at around 2500rpm but once i get going (5 minutes or so) the thing whirs up to 5500rpm and it sounds like a goddam GFFX!!!!

i cant even hear when someone is knocking on the door just ouside my room sometimes


dont buy one!!! unless you have a P4 cause they run cooler and the fan will probably keep its RPM down more thanon a AXP

you should take a look at the thermalright SK7. $25 w/ out a fan, but it works as good as sLK800...
