COMPAQ Deskpro 2000 MMX. 32Mb RAM.Received error message at startup:"Invalid disk...." There is no disk in the drive.Shut off computer and inserted a Win 98 boot disk.Got to # 2 option.At the "A" prompt I entered FDISK.Error message:"No fixed disk present".I need to enter BIOS to configure my system.When I press F10 at startup(as per the manual I got the "invalid disk" error message again.Checked my keyboard in another computer.The F10 tab works.

LMAO! d00d, your skr3wd! Compaq puts their BIOS GUI on the hard drive! So when your hard drive dies, you can't change BIOS!

OK, well replacing the drive might work. And you can usually get BIOS settup floppies for download from Compaq's site. So the only reason you're REALLY screwed is lost time, should you find a need to reconfigure BIOS.
