I have a GeForce 9800 GT graphics card in my P/C. My question is , using HDMI do i need an audio cable to get sound from my T.V.
The reason i ask is i did have a fibre optic cable to a 7.1 bluray player but audio is not working on the bluray player.
Now i can not get sound from my P/C.

I am a little unclear what you mean about your current setup.

However HDMI and your video card should both be capable of transferring audo to your TV.

1. I would check to see that your drivers are installed correctly.

2. Be sure the correct audio playback device is selected

3. Check to make sure you have not muted everything or the program your trying to get sound from.
It is possible to mute specific apps and not others. One of my favorite features. Flash on mozilla comes to mind.

If you do all these things and it still doesnt work you will need to give us a lot more detail about your setup.

Hope It helps :)

Check out this thread http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/263537-33-audio-9800gt-hdmi

Any newer cards like gt210 or ati hd4000/5000 series do it without that added hassle.
