Just like the title says. I am upgrading my motherboard and CPU but want to keep my spark 7 heatsink and fan. What should I clean off the compound with( if at all).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dratzz

Acetone. Nail Polish Remover works well, as long as you get some without the perfumes and extra additives. Check the labels, you don't want to leave residues.

Hi! Be careful, use chemically clean GAS (petrol, you know the stuff one uses in cars, but get the chemically clean one). If you use ACETON don't get the one that contains OIL (perhaps grease in English?). You know what I mean. Be careful.

LOL... well actually I'm watercooled. But that water really smells because I use Waterwetter, dunno if you know that stuff but the smell is awful.

My CPU fan spins so fast that it creates a wormhole

Aww, man, that's great stuff. I figured you weren't exactly an automotively-oriented fellow, though.

I use isopropanol followed by acetone.

Yeah, I know, but that doesn't mean you don't have a ride. I was a poor high school & college student with a 1967 Mustang (fully restored, of course).
