Is it possibole to hit 200 Fsb on the first version of the board. I know you cant as is but what if I replaced the northbridge with something that would keep it much much cooler couldnt I then jack up the Fsb without any problems. Any one have any experiance with this or at least advice.

Thanx

Who says A7n8x rev 1.x won't go >200FSB! Mine Will!
200FSB NO problem! Even 208 Stable and Smokin >3100+ sanrda mem score!
212 Whacks me! 212 will POST, run to desktop and even run Sandra benchmarks - for a LITTLE WHILE..., then Whacko! I lost it bad with corrupted user profile and almost the whole OS!. Its right on the Edge and runs but evidently corruption sneaks in!!! And that's really BAD!!!

But I think its my 1700+(B) that gives out at 10*212 (2120mhz) cause I dont like to bump vcore above 1.7 and its the processor that gives out around 2.1g no mater how i set multiplier and fsb. Can pOST, but cant get to desktop above 11*190 or 12*175 either! Now with a little more Vcore who knows? I read some posts that really crank these little 1700+B's up on a A7n8x rev 1.x much more than i do...

So 200 on a rev 1.x! - No Prob with reasonablty cool(~32C) case temps...

Like this is just too easy...
Am runnin this little 1700+ 10*202 RIGHT NOW!!!
Changed to freq to 202 ( a little over 200 just to prove the point!)
multiplier = 10
mem setting = optimal ( Not Aggresssive!, lets mem timmings slide back a bit!)
AGP Freq = 66
All else default, oh, except vcore = 1.7...

She POSTs, boots to W2K desktop and am postin just fine, infact she's downright ZIPPY... Noticibly snappier than the normal 12*166 I conservatively run at!!!
Woowie... Will run some bechmarks and screen capture em now...
(also turned up my Coolmaster xDream and runnin 41C as I'm workin!)

No BullShit! - <A HREF="http://home.mindspring.com/~rplewis/Fsb202.htm" target="_new">Want PROOF!</A>

And that's with PC2700(DDR333) Kingston Value Ram!
(eat your heart out Crucial!!!)

202FSB - No Problem!!! if my little 1700+ had more stuff i'd run it up higher!
I don't think its my memory or a7n8x rev.1 that holds me back..

Am usin Sandra 2003, but really dont run CPU comparisons much.
I'm a Path to Memory lover for the kinda work i do, Development, Debug and Database. Gamers love their CPU and Video marks, I love my Path to Memory...
and really get a hoot outa whoopin my buddies P4's and RDRAM query times with this little 1700+ and a gig of DDR... This thing's FLAT OUT FAST on query times with a database and indexes in memory - Takes No Prisoners! - and is quite pleasurable to do database work with... While the memory isn't quite as fast as PC1024 RDRAM, I can afford twice as much of it! Works for me...
